I wrote to ask Steve if I may provide him with a reference and should make it plain that it was not a case of Steve asking me to do this for him. I have just completed a purchase in Naples with Steve’s help and can say without any hesitation that he has been absolutely fantastic to deal with. I have had dealings with agents in London and the UK and agents in France when I have bought and sold properties there, and can say without any hesitation that I have never before felt compelled to write something like this. As a UK buyer I suppose that we have a set idea of what agents are like. PUT ALL THOSE IDEAS OUT OF YOUR HEAD!!!

I found Steve on a Google search on the internet purely by chance. Quickly I felt that dealing with Steve was a little like dealing with an old trusted friend in business. There was never a second when I did not feel that he did not have my best interests at heart. He went way beyond the call of duty, he even produced maps to (my) favourite shops and after I had overbought on things for the house, he kept the booty for my return!! Eat your heart out Savills! He was professional and honest, and great fun to be around. It took the obvious pressure out of buying in a country where it is all a little unfamiliar and was very different to my house purchases in France.

He made no attempts to talk me into more expensive properties, as is often the case in the UK, and I felt that he took great care to try to find something that actually matched my needs. My search commenced with a request for a double storey property, yet when I realised that it was not actually what I was looking for, Steve went on to do further time consuming searches without complaint, even pointing out the pros and cons of each of the new properties that I had narrowed down. He did so much work in advance of my visit that the choice itself was in fact quite easy when I arrived. I would advise anyone in this situation to do as much as possible in advance of the actual trip to buy so that Steve can help you get the most out of the whole process.

I cannot recommend Steve highly enough. I am sure that I was not the easiest person in the world to deal with, as I spend my life shouting at people in a courtroom, but he never once complained or looked at his watch or got exasperated (like my husband would have done!) I hope that I retain contact with Steve and his family for many years to come. I would not hesitate to buy a property with his help again. I think that I may have hesitated and worried about what I was doing, had I not had the good common sense and honest advice that he brought to the process.

I have told Steve that I am more than willing for him to provide my telephone number or e mail address to anybody who wants me to say any of these things personally, but can say without hesitation that if you are even thinking about a property in Naples you will not get a better agent than Steve.
